ABSTRACT



THE DEVELOPMENT OF OPEN-ENDED QUESTIONS
ON THE MAIN DISCUSSION OF THE ROWS AND SERIES NUMBERS IN IX CLASS OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL NUMBER 37 OGAN KOMERING ULU
This objectives of this study are: (1) to generate the open-ended questions that are valid and practical in the main discussion of the rows and series numbers in SMP Negeri 37 OKU, (2) to see the potential effect of the open-ended questions towards the student learning outcomes in the main discussion of the rows and series numbers in SMP Negeri 37 OKU. This research is a development research. The subjects of this research were students in grade IX A of SMP Negeri 37 OKU with total 32 people. The data collecting technique used a walkthrough, document analysis, and test of open-ended questions. All data collected were analyzed by descriptive qualitative. Results of data analysis concludes that (1) This research has generated a product of the open-ended with the main discussion of the rows and series numbers for the student of IX grade of junior high school which are valid and practical. Valid is drawn from the results of the validators assessment, where all of the validators stated it have been good based on content, construct, and language. Practical is shown from the test results of small group where most of the students could complete the open-ended questions provided. (2) prototype of an open-ended questions that are developed have positive potential effects towards the student learning outcomes, as seen by the emersion of the variety of solutions from the students answers and the average of student mastery from twice test results of open-ended questions that reached 71.87%
